Area Attractions
- Trenton's Harvest Festival is held annually, the first weekend in August. Activities include a car show, games in the park, and a parade.
- Recreational facilities in Trenton include a swimming pool, baseball fields, football field, track, and tennis court.
- Massacre Canyon Battlefield is located two miles east of Trenton on U.S. Highway 34. Approximately 50 to 150 Pawnee Indians were massacred at the site on August 5, 1873, by a Sioux war party. A monument commemorating this last battle is located just each of Trenton. Carved in the 35 foot granite monument are the faces of Sioux Indian John Grass and Pawnee Indian Ruling-His-Son.
- On January 26, 1981, the Hitchcock County Historical Society in Trenton was presented a deed for a building to serve as a museum. A grocery and dry goods store, Texaco station, new fire-proof steel building, and the Hidy school house, formerly located north of Trenton, make up the museum complex.
- Swanson Lake covers approximately 9,000 acres with 5,000 acres of water surface providing for excellent fishing and boating. More than 2,600 acres are for wildlife, while more than 1,000 acres have recreational facilities. Swanson Lake provides anglers with large Wiper, Walleye, Pike, Catfish, White Bass, and Crappie.

- The Trenton Golf Course is nestled in a small canyon with a variety of fairways and challenging shot opportunities. There are nine sand greens and eighteen tee boxes allowing for an interesting game. The course is mowed and the sand greens provide a unique putting experience. Guests can play for just $5 per day. Club memberships are $50 annually for one individual or $70 annually for a family pass. Students are encouraged to join for only $10 per year.
